Job Summary

To provide daily clinical coverage for procedures performed by the Echo Lab.  These procedures include but are not limited to routine echoes, transesophageal echoes, and stress echoes.  This position services all hospital areas and outpatients who proceed through the department of Cardiac Services.

Accountabilities and Job Activities 

·This position provides a quality echo exam which offers visualization of the structures of the                

patient’s heart.                                                                                                                                 

· Responsible for independently scheduling in patients and providing timely service to out patients.        

· Is accountable for working independently, but also for coordinating duties with that of other associate.  

· Is responsible for the management of patients records, videotapes, documentation of procedures     

and charges.

·  Participates in the monthly departmental QA program.                                                   

· Provides on call if necessary and appropriate.

· Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Computer skills, use of ultrasound equipment.  Recognizes abnormal study and responds as appropriate.
  • Echocardiographic Technologist graduate from accredited education program
  • At least 1-2 years hands on experience in performing echocardiograms, TEEs, and stress echoes.
  • ARDMS and CCI certified 
  • CPR certification
