Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Ancillary Services and according to established policies and procedures uses a variety of the Hospital’s patient information related systems, assesses each case related concern and resolves the issues with regards to appointments, financial matters and clearance for Radiology and other outpatient services. Shares pertinent patient information with the appropriate personnel to ensure the smooth processing of appointments and information.

Job Duties

o Establish and maintain reporting to determine if registration is completed in a timely and

accurately.

o Actively monitors system pre-certification/authorization denials, identifies root causes/trends,

and promptly implement remediation plans to prevent future denials.

o Reviews the highest dollar in-house inpatient cases and performs due diligence with Quality Utilization to ensure reimbursement and minimize financial risk.

o Reviews POS collections opportunities as a part of the pre-verification process to identify the financial liability of patients prior to service.

o Monitors and controls budget expenditures and operating expenses to avoid negative variances.

o Coordinates the interpretation and enforcement of the department and hospital financial policies

and procedures.

o Seeks to expeditiously and effectively resolve all reimbursement issues which may cause a delay in payment.

o Translates organizational vision into the systems department’s vision that engages staff in contributing to and achieving that vision.

o Finds ways to continually improve operational efficiency by leveraging available technology/software and maximizing the potential of staff members.

Job Requirements

  • Progressive leadership with 2 years management experience
  • Excellent continuation skills to effectively manage the daily work of others, and interact with ambulatory departments, physicians, and hospital leadership.
  • Comfortable organizing, managing, and delegating work priorities.
  • Superior analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot, identify improvement opportunities and potential risk points, and develop solutions to address them.
  • Must be adaptable to change and be able to motivate others to adapt to those changes through positive communication.
  • Patient Access EMR Experience (Cemer Preferred)

•         Self-directed with the ability to make quality, independent decisions and work collaboratively.

Associate’s degree in business or healthcare or

       Bachelor’s degree in business preferred
