JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor and working under direct supervision performs the duties associated with receiving, distributing, storing, and inventorying supplies used in direct patient care.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Two years experience in Material Management or a related field
  • Proficiency with a computerized inventory control system
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and cooperate with personnel in other departments.
  • Physical ability required to lift light to moderate weights, push/pull carts and constant standing/walking

JOB DUTIES

1.      Demonstrates the WSMC Service Pride Values of Respect, Honesty, Participation, and Unity, which are key in providing quality service to patients and customers. 

2.    Monitors supply levels in departments using par level lists or hand-held computer. Pulls and replenishes supply in orderly fashion, monitoring cleanliness, expiration date and supply integrity.

3.  Suggests and monitors supply level/location changes as needed. Works with end-users and co-workers to maintain adequate supplies on units. 

4.    Performs data processing entries required for the online MMIS on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy of the information. 

5.    Replenishes, rotates and organizes stock/supplies so that items with the nearest expiration date are used. 

6.    Faces and group’s items for ease of identification. 

7.    Communicates via telephone or pager to respond to needs of hospital.

8.   Assist with the inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.

9.   Other duties as assigned; may be required to cover 0n Receiving Dock and/or Mailroom as needed.
