PRIMARY JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Illinois RN License
- Bachelor's degree in nursing ; Master's Preferred
- Combination of education and relative experience that provides knowledge, skills and ability to successfully fulfill job responsibilities may substitute.
- Certification in clinical area of nursing administration preferred.
- 3-5 years of clinical experience.
- Supervisory or leadership role demonstrated in past experience.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Registered professional nurse who is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the growth and development of the unit's patient care services consistent with organizational goals and identified unit needs.
- The Birth Center Nurse Director will develop and mentor staff, ensuring clinical competencies and quality improvements.
- Administrative duties such as budgeting, staffing, and operations.
- Maintain relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to develop and implement policies and procedures by advocating for the rights and safety of patients and staff.
- Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Birth Center Nurse Director will provide multidisciplinary leadership and administrative authority for multiple patient care units and departments on a 24-hour basis.
- The Director will be supported by a tenured and experienced team of Labor and Delivery Nurses ensuring seamless operation and excellence in patient care.
- Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
