JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a bilingual, English/Spanish candidate that is passionate about helping patients obtain health insurance and quality care. This position is Full-Time from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Bachelor's Degree
- 1 year of experience in a social service or healthcare setting or an equivalent combination of training and experience
JOB DUTIES
- Primary responsibilities include working on-site at one of our hospitals, guiding patients through the process of obtaining medical eligibility and acting as the patients’ liaison while working with governmental agencies, all the while providing them excellent customer service and responsiveness
- Work closely with patients to assist in completion of the Medicaid application
- Completes and files applications for healthcare coverage or other financial support for healthcare access, such as Medicaid
- Visit patient’s bedside to screen for Medicaid
- Follow through with applicants to obtain accurate information while working within strict timeframes and follow individual client application status through to resolution
- Process information from uninsured patients in order to determine if they are qualified for medical assistance
- Maintain work queue of patient accounts
- Accurately record pertinent information into Resilience internal database
- Responsible for calling the patients to acquire information necessary to complete application on their behalf
- Good computer skills, ability to learn with ease the different kinds of computer programs our hospitals use (Cerner & Paragon) strong adaptability to technology
- Collects demographic and financial information from clients
- Completes income assessments to determine eligibility for public benefits, healthcare coverage and/or financial assistance.
