JOB SUMMARY

This position requires extensive knowledge of Server infrastructure. Demonstrated ability to work independently in the daily management of Physical Servers, VMWare, and Other systems. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and related tools. Some proficiency with Microsoft Project and related tools is preferred.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

High school diploma and 1+ years of IT support experience or completion of IT related undergrad courses

A+, Network+, or MCSA are certification a plus

Must have a fundamental understanding of networking and Server Infrastructure.

Must have an ability to diagnose problems and make decisions to assure prompt resolution.

Previous experience in a Server support role.

Considerable skill in Visio or another application to create diagrams.

Proficient with basic networking concepts such as VMWare, Veeam, Nutanix, Unix, Linux, NAS and more


JOB DUTIES

Linux & Windows Server Administration: Expertise in RedHat, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, SLES, and Windows Server 2008R2/2012/2016/2019 environments, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Virtualization & Data Center Management: Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, DRS, HA, vMotion, Hyper-V, and VM lifecycle management (deployment, migration, consolidation, decommissioning).

Backup, Recovery & Storage: Proficient with Veeam, enterprise backup systems, disaster recovery planning, iSCSI/NFS storage configuration, and server/database backup and restoration operations.

Patch & Compliance Management: Skilled in BIOS, OS, firmware, and application-level patching, hardening servers, and ensuring security and compliance within defined SLAs.

Database & Application Services: Managing and tuning MySQL, Bind, nginx, and HA RAC/Data Guard; performing health checks, performance optimization, and SQL operations.

Directory & Access Management: Administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, replication, trust relationships, and user access controls including password and privilege management.

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Strong command-line troubleshooting
